Mujeres has empowered Latinas and their families since 1973.
To carry out this mission, Mujeres relies on volunteers and financial support from a number of sources: the government, foundations and corporations, and concerned individuals in the community.
About eighty cents of every dollar donated to Mujeres directly fund the programs that help survivors of domestic abuse and sexual assault, parents and their children, individuals trying to avoid homelessness and Latinas looking to lead the community.
A financial contribution to Mujeres of any size helps Latinas in need:
A $25 donation buys training materials that help our volunteers answer our 24-hour bilingual crisis hotline.
A $50 donation covers a month’s transportation cost for domestic violence survivors going to court seeking an order of protection from their abusers.
Donations of $100 provide an educational workshop for a group of women.
A gift of $500 supplies a family in crisis with housing for a month.
- A donation of $1,000 pays for counselors who help participants become financially self-sufficient.
