The recent momentum behind Comprehensive Immigration Reform has been missing a focus on the issues that directly affect women, girls, and families. To bring attention to immigration reform as a women’s issue and a critical part in the fight for women’s equality, Mujeres Latinas en Acción, ICIRR, the Chicago Foundation for Women, and Women Employed came together to form Women For Compassionate Immigration Reform (WCIR). WCIR is comprised of a growing group of leaders in government, nonprofit, and business who are pushing for compassionate immigration reform that addresses the priorities of women.
