Childcare Worker

BASIC FUNCTION: Provides childcare services to those recipients of Mujeres Latinas en Acción services. Assists the supervisor in daily program activities to ensure the accomplishment of goals and objectives. Recommends changes to supervisor.

REPORTS TO: Childcare Supervisor

LOCATION: North Riverside

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Provides childcare services to persons receiving services individually and in the group in a manner consistent with the agency’s mission of empowerment and non-violence.
  2. Assists supervisor in preparing weekly topics, including preparation of material.
  3. Assists supervisor in collecting and organizing data for the monthly report to funders and program coordinator.
  4. Enrolls children in Childcare services.
  5. Documents group observations for each session of childcare provided.
  6. Assists in reception coverage answering phone calls, logs in participants, walk-ins, and visitors directing them to the proper program/department.
  7. Travel to satellite offices if needed for childcare/reception coverage.
  8. Other duties as assigned by the childcare supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • HS/GED preferred
  • Experience working with children’s services preferred
  • Good written/verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with children and staff
  • Reliability, patience, and respect for children are a must
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
  • Knowledge of domestic violence and child abuse issues are preferred
  • Knowledge of Latine and women’s issues is preferred
  • Basic computer knowledge

SALARY

$19.50-21 Hourly
