Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate culturally and linguistically responsive entrepreneurship and financial literacy groups for participants in Levels, I, II and III.
  • Provide individualized coaching sessions to current and former participants, using a trauma-informed, survivor- and client-centered approach that fosters empowerment and long-term stability.
  • Conduct intakes, assessments, and goal-setting plans with participants to support their entrepreneurial development and financial self-sufficiency.
  • Coordinate group enrollment activities, orientation sessions, and participant onboarding for EDF cohorts.
  • Coordinate and lead program events, workshops, and outreach activities to increase awareness and participation in the EDF program.
  • Develop and cultivate relationships with community partners, small business networks, and resource providers to expand participant opportunities and support networks.
  • Conduct outreach and recruitment through presentations, community events, and social media to engage potential participants.
  • Provide information, referrals, and linkages to address participants’ additional needs related to housing, employment, or social services.
  • Support participants in accessing crowdfunding initiatives, circle lending, and other microenterprise opportunities.
  • Advocate on behalf of program participants to promote equitable access to entrepreneurship and financial resources.
  • Participate in advocacy and awareness activities that align with Mujeres’ mission to advance economic justice and gender equity.
  • Maintain accurate participant records, assessments, attendance, and progress notes in internal and external databases in compliance with program, grant, and organizational standards.
  • Support program evaluation and reporting by gathering and analyzing statistical data, outcomes, and participant feedback.
  • Participate in ongoing file reviews to ensure documentation accuracy and compliance.
  • Collaborate with the program leadership to develop reports and materials for funders, internal leadership, and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Counseling, Case Management, Education, and Advocacy) to ensure holistic participant support and coordinated services.
  • Participate in staff meetings, supervision, and professional development activities to strengthen skills in trauma-informed care, entrepreneurship education, and culturally responsive practices.
  • Represent the organization in external meetings, community coalitions, and advisory groups relevant to economic empowerment and gender-based violence prevention.
  • Assist with special projects and organizational initiatives as assigned.
  • May require evening and/or weekend hours to meet participants’ scheduling needs.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Demonstrated experience facilitating educational groups, trainings, or workshops for diverse community audiences.
  • Knowledge of entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and culturally responsive, trauma-informed, survivor-centered practices.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and project management skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities.
  • Bilingual and bicultural (Spanish/English) required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, databases (e.g., ETO, QuickBase), and social media platforms.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed, and ability to travel to multiple sites within Chicago and surrounding areas.

Education & Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in social services or related field; Master’s degree preferred
  • Illinois Certified Domestic Violence 40-Hour Training preferred

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:

  • This position has a hybrid work schedule which includes weekly in office presence.
  • Standard office environment.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift items weighing up to 20 lbs.
  • Travel to other Mujeres office locations.
  • Work evenings and weekends as needed.

  • Paid Holidays: 14 paid holidays including Juneteenth, Indigenous Peoples Day, and Winter holidays.

Standard office hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. This position requires occasional evening and weekend hours based on programmatic needs, events, and participant scheduling.
