Senior Grants & Compliance Manager

Senior Grants & Compliance Manager

Work with the VP of Institutional & Strategic Advancement, Program Directors, and Accounting to write grants to procure and report funds from government funders (local, state, and federal). This person needs to be a strong writer (a writing sample might be requested). This position will assist in managing, budgeting, allocation, and reporting of approximately $3.5 million in revenue, from approximately 20 government funding streams, as well as advising on private funding initiatives.

REPORTS TO: Vice President of Institutional & Strategic Advancement

LOCATION: Hybrid: Work from home/Pilsen office

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Write grant proposals, applications, and reports. This role includes researching, identifying, developing, and responding to public grant opportunities in the programmatic areas of Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault, Leadership Development, Immigrant Rights, Women’s Health, and Family Wellness.
  2. Work closely with our National Technical Team, our Accounting Department, and our Government Program Officers to assure that the organizations, our partners, and consultants are in complete compliance with our federal grant contracts.
  3. Work with our accounting department to ensure government funding is properly actualized and drawn down.
  4. Collaborate with our Development and Program Teams to document and report outcomes and grants deliverables.
  5. Coordinate with VP of Institutional & Strategic Advancement, Accounting Department, CFO Consultant, and Program Directors to develop grant applications and reports, as well as identify areas of need for additional funding.
  6. Conduct prospect research to identify new grant opportunities and to diversify funding.
  7. Responsible to manage government agency audits and site visits, working closely with Mujeres staff (including programs and HR/Operations) to address any findings and/or to develop corrective action plans.
  8. Maintain and track grant requests and reporting requirements. Maintain database and files regarding information about government agencies/funding partners including contact information, requests for funding, reporting requirements, deadlines, and whether the requests are funded or not funded.
  9. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and grant terms. Including review financial reports, verifies figures and information for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with grant regulations.
  10. Other duties, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree minimum.
  • Experience working in nonprofit organizations, government agencies, education, public health, or a related field for minimum of two years, with a proven track record in grant writing or technical writing.
  • Candidates must possess excellent writing skills and strong attention to detail, as well as be proficient in their computer skills, including data and project software.
  • The candidate must be highly organized, able to effectively work under pressure, use independent judgment and produce a quality work product within tight time constraints.
  • The position also requires the candidate to have the ability to work extended and/or evening hours, on occasion work weekend hours, and occasionally travel out of town for meetings/seminars, sometimes overnight.
  • The candidate must also be sensitive to professional ethics, gender, cultural diversities, and disabilities.

SALARY $70,000 – $80,000
