Sexual Assault Therapist

BASIC FUNCTION: Provides survivors of sexual violence (across the lifespan) and as needed, identified significant others (who have not caused harm) with therapeutic, case management and crisis intervention services. Support in delivery of 42 hour SA training, community education and intake services. Advocate at the institutional level of Latines through ongoing participation in advisory groups and other coalitions on the issue of sexual violence.

REPORTS TO: Director of Sexual Assault Program

LOCATION: Hybrid (3-4 days in office – Pilsen/Brighton Park*)
*Will be required travel to other sites, as needed

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Engage and provide ongoing therapeutic services to survivors of sexual violence (across the lifespan) through individual, family, and/or group services, as appropriate.
  2. Perform intakes and provide information, referrals, and linkages to survivors of sexual through walk-in, telephone, and scheduled intake services.
  3. Conduct initial and ongoing assessments and treatment plans for using a participant-centered, trauma-informed, strengths-based, and culturally responsive approach.
  4. Coordinate care with internal and external linkages and referrals to address survivors’ additional needs.
  5. Provide case management, crisis intervention, group services, and parent and guardian consultation, as needed.
  6. Participates in clinical reviews of cases as well as internal/external meetings.
  7. Complete accurate documentation of services rendered to survivors of sexual violence and maintain compliance with documentation standards as indicated by program, grant and organizational requirements. Participates in ongoing file reviews.
  8. Participates in reporting process, assist with statistic data gathering, and evaluation program needs, as appropriate.
  9. Advocates at the institutional level on behalf of Latinas through participation in advisory groups and other coalitions that focus on the issue of sexual assault.
  10. Provides prompt updates of external meetings to direct supervisor and ensures appropriate updates are provided to SA team during team meetings.
  11. Participate in the delivery 42 hour sexual assault training, community education, outreach and continuing education.
  12. Will be required to work evening and/or Saturday hours to meet participants’ scheduling needs.
  13. Perform outreach on behalf of program in an effort to engage participants into services.
  14. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree in counseling, social work, or related field.
  • Bilingual, bicultural (Spanish/English) required.
  • Sexual Assault 40-hr. trained preferred
  • Strong communication skills
  • Demonstrate skills and abilities to advocate for and with survivors of diverse populations.

SALARY

Pre-Clinical Licensed salary range (LSW, LPC): $58,000–$75,000
Clinical Licensed salary range (LCSW, LCPC): $62,000–$77,000
FLSA Exempt
