Position Overview

The Reception Volunteer serves as the first point of contact for visitors, clients, and callers. This role plays a vital part in creating a welcoming and supportive environment at our organization. Volunteers in this position help ensure smooth daily operations at the front desk while supporting the administrative needs of the team.

Key Responsibilites:

  • Greet and assist visitors in a friendly and professional manner
  • Answer and direct phone calls to appropriate staff or departments
  • Respond to general inquiries about the organization and its services
  • Support with appointment scheduling and sign-ins
  • Receive and distribute mail or deliveries
  • Help maintain a tidy and organized reception area
  • Provide basic administrative support such as photocopying, filing, or data entry, as needed

Interview & Orientation

Meet with our volunteer coordinator to learn about the role, ask questions, and ensure the best fit for you.

Training

Complete necessary training, which may include the full 42-hour Domestic Violence Advocate Training.

Active Volunteering Begins

Start offering direct assistance — support community workshops, accompany survivors to medical visits, gather and prepare materials for events, etc.

Ongoing Support & Growth

You’ll receive regular check-ins and opportunities for deeper engagement like training others or joining advocacy campaigns.
