Heal
- Healing is our shared goal.
- Healing must be culturally specific.
- Culturally specific healing is about returning to wholeness. It is returning to connection to ourselves, our communities and the natural world.
- There is a disconnection with cultural healing practices because of the pressures to assimilate to the mainstream ways of healing.
- This disconnect creates a culture of silence regarding gender-based violence, sexual assault and domestic violence.
Thrive
- Healing isn’t linear.
- Healing journeys look different for each survivor.
- Justice looks different for each survivor.
- We honor and support autonomy– whatever a survivor chooses for themselves in regards to their own healing.
Lead
- Healing must be aware of historical and present-day violence.
- We are all survivors.
- Our work is grounded in rebuilding connections to what was broken due to historical and present-day violence.
