Associate Director of Development 

Description:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Grant and Portfolio Management: Manage and implement the full lifecycle for government, foundation, private, and individual funds to ensure financial sustainability.
  • Grant Oversight: Provide rigorous oversight of the grant cycle, including tracking deadlines, preparing high-quality proposals, and ensuring timely reporting.
  • Strategic Planning: Partner with the President and CEO to design and implement all development and fundraising activities.
  • Financial Compliance: Partner with the Controller on financial planning and grant compliance.
  • Partnership & Stewardship: Develop and maintain strong relationships with funders, donors, and partners through consistent communication and alignment with stewardship best practices.
  • Donor Cultivation: Engage the volunteer councils in ongoing donor cultivation and stewardship efforts.
  • Internal Collaboration & Evaluation: Work alongside program staff to translate programmatic priorities into compelling grant proposals and impact reports.
  • Database Management: Conduct relevant database management and archival maintenance to measure the impact of development strategies.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Experience: 5+ years of progressive development experience, with a experience in securing multi-year government and private funding.
  • Communication: Excellent writing and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Leadership: Strong strategic planning abilities and experience managing complex projects or teams.
  • Mission Alignment: A deep commitment to the mission of Mujeres Latinas en Acción and racial and gender equity.
  • Language Skills: Proficiency in both Spanish and English is strongly preferred.
  • Cultural Competency: Experience with Latino/a/e, immigrant, or social justice organizations is highly desirable.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:

  • Work Schedule: This position follows a hybrid work schedule, which includes a weekly in-office presence.
  • Environment: Duties are performed in a standard office environment.
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to occasionally lift items weighing up to 20 lbs.
  • Travel: Ability to travel to other Mujeres office locations as required.
  • Availability: Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed for events or programming.
