DOMESTIC VIOLENCE COMMUNITY EDUCATION SUPERVISOR
Responsible for organizing, implementing, leading, and providing outreach efforts and trainings to diverse fields, including facilitating 42-Hour Domestic Violence training. Responsible for providing trauma-informed domestic violence education to diverse communities. Supervises Mujeres’ DV Community Educator. Provides crisis intervention and community referrals to adult survivors of domestic violence.
REPORTS TO: Domestic Violence Program Director
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise, support and lead DV Community Educator, including, monitoring work plans and collaborating on outreach and training efforts.
- Coordinate and provide professional training to diverse fields (i.e. medical, education, law enforcement, legal, etc.) related to domestic violence (DV) and gender violence.
- Lead efforts to promote awareness of DV, including DV awareness month.
- Coordinate and conduct 42-hour DV trainings, ensuring coverage of all required topics by the Illinois Certified Domestic Violence Professional (ICDVP) Board.
- Create and implement a calendar of trainings providing CEUs to maintain ICDVP certification.
- Promote and recruit for training/workshops to outside providers.
- Participate in organizational meetings as required.
- Participate in advocacy efforts related to the DV program/organization as needed.
- Provide crisis intervention to in-person and telephone clients at organization during intake day.
- Complete documentation of services provided promptly, in a timely manner.
- Assist with the recruitment for volunteers/interns through community events.
- Assist with interviews/screening of potential volunteers/interns to ensure the best match.
- Generates reports as needed for DV Program Director.
- Keep abreast of current and relevant information related to DV and overall gender violence.
- Other tasks as assigned by Domestic Violence Program Director
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in social services such as psychology, social work, mental health required.
- Bilingual and Bicultural (Spanish/English) required
- Experience in field of domestic violence and/or gender violence required
- Experience in professional training required
- Experience with interviewing
- 40-hour ICADV training preferred
- Supervisory experience prefered
SALARY: $55,000 – $60,000
