Key Responsibilities:

Participant Engagement & Coaching

  1. Recruit, assess, and enroll participants into the Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP).
  2. Conduct participant intakes and assessments, developing individualized action plans that reflect participants’ goals and needs.
  3. Facilitate educational groups using the organization’s entrepreneurship and financial literacy curriculum, ensuring content is culturally responsive and accessible.
  4. Provide one-on-one coaching on business planning, budgeting, credit-building, and financial goal
  5. Encourage participants through ongoing follow-up sessions to develop strategic business, technology, and financial plans and connect them with internal/external resources.
  6. Coordinate care and referrals to address participants’ broader needs, including linkages to advocacy, legal, housing, or case management services when appropriate.

Program Coordination & Events

  1. Assist with program coordination, planning, and execution of workshops, trainings, and special events.
  2. Manage program communications and maintain a presence on social media platforms in partnership with communications staff.
  3. Conduct outreach activities to promote the program and recruit participants.
  4. Participate in organizational and community events, such as small business fairs, financial literacy initiatives, and advocacy efforts.

Partnership Development & Advocacy

  1. Cultivate partnerships with financial institutions, nonprofit agencies, business owners, and community organizations to expand resources for participants.
  2. Represent the program in coalitions, advisory groups, and advocacy efforts that promote immigrant entrepreneurship and economic justice.
  3. Provide updates from external meetings to the Program Supervisor and team to ensure coordination and shared learning.

Data, Reporting & Compliance

  1. Collect, enter, and maintain accurate participant data in organizational databases.
  2. Complete timely program reports as required by grants, funders, and organizational standards.
  3. Support program evaluation by tracking outcomes and identifying areas for improvement.

Professional Development & Organizational Support

  1. Participate in staff trainings, supervision, and professional development opportunities to strengthen skills in financial literacy education, trauma-informed practices, and culturally responsive approaches.
  2. Support special projects assigned by the Program Supervisor.
  3. Work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and Saturdays, to meet participant and program needs.
  4. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, education, social work, or related field preferred; equivalent professional experience will be considered.
  • Experience in entrepreneurship, small business development, financial literacy education, or coaching.
  • Strong understanding of budgeting, financial planning, and business operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to use trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and client-centered approaches with immigrant communities and/or survivors of gender-based violence.
  • Excellent group facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and event coordination skills.
  • Experience with outreach, partnership building, and advocacy.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, Canva, and virtual platforms (e.g., Zoom); database experience preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) required (written and oral).

Education & Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Education, Social Work, Nonprofit Management, Community Development or related field
  • Certified Domestic Violence Professional preferred
  • Small Business Development Training (through SBA, Women’s Business Development Center, or local chambers)
  • Business Coaching Certification or Entrepreneurship Educator Training

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:

  • This position has a hybrid work schedule which includes weekly in office presence.
  • Standard office environmen.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift items weighing up to 20 lbs.
  • Travel to other sites including Chicago and Western suburbs and so, reliable transportation is required.
  • Will be required to work evening and/or Saturday hours to meet programming and/or participants’ scheduling needs.

  • Paid Holidays: 14 paid holidays including Juneteenth, Indigenous Peoples Day, and Winter holidays.
