Supervised Visitation Specialist

Description:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts intakes, interviews, and assessments, and ensures completion of satisfaction surveys.
  • Ensure that all regulations, safety procedures and protocols are followed during visits.
  • Schedules court ordered visits and safe exchanges with children, residential and visiting parents.
  • Clearly communicate and enforce visitation rules with all parties involved and promptly notify parents of any rule violations.
  • Monitor and provide a safe visitation environment, ensuring guidelines are followed for the appropriateness and safety of interactions. Terminate visits if necessary, based on safety or conduct concerns.
  • Provides feedback to parents regarding their conduct and progress during visits.
  • Establish and maintain comprehensive professional files, documenting all necessary information related to families and visitations.
  • Provides feedback to clients regarding their conduct and progress on the visits.
  • Maintain clients’ attendance records in files and narratives for services.
  • Provides timely and accurate reports and data to the supervisor for all funding entities.
  • Attends all agency meetings and participates in agency events and committees.
  • Explores participation in existing coalitions, group working on advocacy efforts related to the program.
  • Provides SVSE supervisor and Director with regular updates about families enrolled in the program.
  • Prepares documentation and assists SVSE Supervisor and program Director with site visits.
  • Make appropriate referrals to MLEA’s programs or outside agencies as needed.
  • Updates agency and FAC’s database with participants’ efforts enrolled in the program.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish), bicultural required
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Initiative and problem-solving skills
  • Competency and knowledgeable working with the service population’s cultural and social economic characteristics.
  • Computer proficiency and good writing and communication skills.

Education & Certifications:

  • B.A. in Social Work, Psychology, or related field
  • 42-Hour DV Training preferred
